Kittens, Food, Ice Cream, and Candy

Those of us in the Locust Moon family know there are only two things as important as comics:

1. food
2. cats.

Each year at the festival, we make sure to share the best of EVERYTHING we love deeply, not just comics. So this year, joining us at the entrance of the Rotunda as part of the festivities, you’ll find…

Candy. I mean, it is Halloween, after all. Mark us down as the (generous) first stop on your trick-or-treating odyssey.

outside-meow

Project MEOW is an all-volunteer, animal welfare group that helps West Philadelphia residents to humanely reduce their feral and stray cat populations through Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) of un-owned stray and feral (wild) cats.

They’ll be at the fest with kittens to play with, get to know, and maybe even considering adopting.

outside-memo

Tacos Don Memo makes the best burritos you’re likely to eat on the East Coast. Maybe on any coast, honestly.

outside-greens

Philly Greens is here to put smiles on vegans’ faces, but carnivores would enjoy chef Greg Alden Steele’s take on chili, nachos, and, well, salad, naturally.

outside-icecream

Little Baby’s Ice Cream (1 pm – 4 pm) creates always delicious, and often adventurous flavors make this some of our favorite ice cream of all time. Have you seen their ads?

Find all these and, of course, comics, at the

Map, Tables, and Food!

LMCF2014_TableMap

Here’s the table map for this year’s Locust Moon Comics Festival!

And just like last year, we’re being joined by our very favorite food people in Philly – the extraordinary Tacos Don Memo (get their burritos. just do it.), Kung Fu Hoagies (veggie/vegan specialists), and Little Baby’s Ice Cream (absurdly special).

There shall also be kittens.

Craig Russell, and many more) opening Saturday night at Locust Moon!

Locust Moon Foodstival

This year we’re going to be feasting like kings while we buy, read, draw, talk and sell comics.
Locust Moon has curated our food sources perhaps even more stringently than we did our artistic exhibitors. Only the best for you.

Philly’s favorite idiosyncratic ice cream wizards will open up shop inside the Rotunda. Anyone who was at the Festival last year surely remembers LITTLE BABY’S ICE CREAM.
If you don’t know, now you know.
little baby

An easy favorite of any recent University City dweller who knows their stuff, TACOS DON MEMO will be providing the best burritos (and tacos, tortas and more) that Philadelphia has to offer. You will part with us this weekend pining for more Don Memo’s. Trust me.
don memo So, hey, do you like martial arts? What about sandwiches? Vietnamese food and surprisingly vegan deliciousness? You may just barely be ready to pig out on KUNG FU HOAGIES.

And if you need a great pick-me-up between 10am and 2pm, you’ll be able to grab some coffee right on site by the super brewers of LOVERS AND MADMEN.
