Alexandra Beguez is an illustrator and cartoonist based in New Jersey with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts. Her narratives delve into whimsical mythologies populated with haunting characters, extremely bright colors and cautionary endings. Alexandra works primarily in ink, gouache, silkscreen and digital to create her pieces. Recently, she co-founded a comics collective that self-publishes a comics anthology called Three-Armed Squid themed around the magical number 4. She also shares a collaborative art studio with her friend Shalimar Luis called Hair With Fist.
Some of Alexandra’s comics and hand-made books are available at fine comic retailers in New York, such as Desert Island Comics and Recession Art Center. Alexandra is also featured in the first issue of Locust Moon’s own ongoing anthology series, Quarter Moon.
